Funeral Home Grief and Wellness
About Us
Our Vision
Grief does not look the same for everyone, and there is no single “right” way to grieve. In Islam, however, we are guided by spiritual principles that help us navigate loss with dignity, patience, and remembrance of Allah.
The Funeral Grief & Wellness Committee is a team of Ahmadi Muslim mental health professionals working in collaboration with AMJ Funeral Services and under the umbrella of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Medical Association Canada (AMMAC). The committee was established to complement funeral services by addressing the emotional, psychological, and spiritual needs of individuals and families before, during, and after bereavement.
Rooted in Islamic values of compassion, dignity, and communal care, the committee aims to normalize grief, reduce isolation, and provide accessible, culturally responsive support pathways within the Jama’at.

As the Grief and Wellness Committee continues to grow, our intention is to expand training, education, and capacity-building initiatives that equip volunteers with the skills and knowledge to provide compassionate grief support within their local communities. By offering structured workshops, leadership development, and wellness education, we aim to create a network of trained volunteers who can extend these services to more regions across Jamaʿat Canada, strengthening community care, emotional resilience, and accessible support for families navigating loss.
We welcome individuals who are interested in contributing their time, skills, and compassion to the Grief and Wellness Committee. If you feel called to support this important work, we invite you to contact us to learn more about joining the team.
